Amy Lou Adams, full name Amy Lou Adams (born 20 August 1974, in Aviano Italy), American actress. Her fame is for playing naive characters who are fun and loved by people who have read her work. Adams is born in Italy while her father served with the U.S. military and she was raised in Castle Rock Colorado as one of seven kids. The mid-1990s saw her begin acting and dancing professionally with The Boulder Dinner Theatre and the Country Dinner Playhouse in Colorado. She then moved to Minnesota and was cast in Drop Dead Gorgeous, a documentary mock film that focused on beauty contests. When she made her screen debut as a funny but dapper contestant she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She was married to the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 until September 1962, and was the mother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. She was discovered by actress Norma Shearer Leigh secured a contract with MGM and began her film career in the latter part of the 1940s. Through the years, Leigh was in a variety of popular films like Alfred Hitchcock Psycho (1960) or Living It Up (a Martin Lewis film made in 1954).
