The reason she felt it was important to draw political attention to adopt measures to combat global warming. Swedish media caught Thunbergs striking, and the news about her strike went out. Thousands of students around the globe took part in the #FridaysforFuture protest, avoiding the school day on Friday to protest against the effects of climate change. Climate activists from all over the world came together for the first Global Strike for Climate. It was a huge success; more than 1.6million participants from more than 125 countries joined.

Nia Peeples is born Virenia Gwendolyn. She is an American musician and actor. She is famous for her role as Pam Fields (in the drama Pretty Little Liars) and Nicole Chapman (on the show Fame).
