Nancy O'Dell's initial job in the broadcast industry was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was an anchor and morning reporter on WCBD TV. O'Dell's reporting on the lax response of the police in response to DUI instances in Charleston led to an investigation being conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which resulted in a new direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell received the Best Report of the Media Award in South Carolina by the Associated Press. In the years following her stint in Charleston O'Dell was a co-anchor and investigative reporter for the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to her move to Access Hollywood as a weekend co-anchor and weekday correspondent. In addition, she serves as an anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She's reported on the Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted numerous pre-show arrivals show to The Emmys And The Golden Globes. The other shows she has hosted include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
